REDISCOVER NATURE DURING YOUR HOLIDAY IN
PEACE AND QUIET
Different ways to enjoy your holiday in the great outdoors
Whether you live in the city or in a more rural location, it is always good to spend a weekend or a holiday in the countryside. Immocéan holiday apartments are all located in Landes, not far from the Landes de Gascogne Regional Nature Park and we value this proximity to nature. Between land and sea, enjoying the landscapes of the department and its many assets has never been easier: ocean, mild climate, lakes, ponds, forests, natural springs, sand dunes, etc. Take this opportunity to spend a quiet holiday in the south-west of France, far from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, to once again enjoy peace and quiet and the high quality of life offered by the surrounding nature.
A holiday between beaches and forests
The Landes forest covers about 67% of the area of the department. When booking a holiday apartment in Landes in anticipation of your next holidays, you are preparing to join a gigantic playground! Or would you prefer a siesta in the shade of the pine trees or an afternoon tanning on one of the many beaches near your residence? On our side, we also love the reading breaks at the edge of the woods when the sun and air are not yet too hot.
Discovery of fauna and flora
If you wish to discover the richness and diversity of the region’s fauna and flora, numerous solutions and activities are available to you. Are you going to stay in the Résidence Plage Centrale? If so, let yourself be tempted by a boat trip from Capbreton port. If you are lucky, you may even come across a few dolphins! For those who are more comfortable on land, go to the Marais d’Orx to admire the different birds that make up its wildlife.
A journey to a land of traditions
Are you going to Landes with your children? Great! This is the ideal time to show them how a farm works and introduce them to the Landes traditions. Near our holiday residences in Landes, you will find Marquèze ecomuseum. When visiting this superb heritage site, you will learn about the lives of Landes shepherds and farmers. You will also meet the different farm residents: sheep, cattle, chickens, rabbits, etc.
Take the time to enjoy your holiday in the south-west
What does a quiet holiday in Landes mean to you? We think immediately of natural springs, such as the famous Dax spring with its naturally warm water. But have you ever heard of miraculous fountains? In the Landes de Gascogne alone, there are more than 200 fountains and whether you believe in their benefits or not, going to see one is always a great opportunity to admire nature and visit beautiful, picturesque places.
Landes is known to be the leading flower-strewn department of Aquitaine and the south-west of France. It would be a shame all the same not to find out why! If you like to visit charming villages and admire the floral compositions that adorn the streets and flowerbeds, you are definitely in the right place. Here are some of the Landes villages with the most flowers and which will play a role in the charm of your holiday close to nature: Arx, Belhade, Labenne, Tosse, Goos, etc. If you don’t mind a bit of driving, you can also visit the medieval town of Bazas, also with flowers. It offers various walks according to your interests (plants, architecture, Roman monuments, etc.). Here you will find beautiful landscaped gardens and green areas that highlight the city’s various historical monuments.
Share good times during activities in the great outdoors
A peaceful holiday thanks to the peace and quiet that reigns in the Landes, above all a holiday spent on the beach. But… quiet does not mean boring! There are many activities to share with your family and friends that take place at the beach, by the ocean. You can opt for a horse ride, a ride on an electric beach bike (fat bike) or a quad ride. Of course, if you prefer an after-dinner walk, barefoot on the sand, that works too!
For more sporting activities, you can turn to surfing. This is one of the most popular activities in Landes and the Basque Country. You will easily find a surfing school to your liking if you wish to be supported in the discovery of this sport. For other water activities, you can choose between: canoeing, rafting, canyoning, hydrospeed, paddle boarding, pedal boat, windsurfing or hiking down rivers. For more information on these activities, click here. Out-of-water leisure activities have not been forgotten with superb treetop adventure courses, skate-boarding or electric scooter rides and fun woodland paintball games. Don’t worry, you can return to the peace and quiet at any time by going back to the sea for a short break!

Family walks on the south Atlantic coast
On the Landes side and for a pleasant family walk, we recommend the tour of Hossegor seawater lake. You will appreciate the beautiful colours of the lake and surrounding vegetation. Not forgetting the beautiful residences that you will glimpse throughout this walk! The children won’t find the tour too long and will have as much fun as you do. For a longer and sportier route, head for the Courant d’Huchet hike. It is a river that starts at the Étang de Léon lake and flows into the ocean. During this hike of more than 4 hours, you will follow the river for 14 km. Are you looking for an easy-to-complete hike with about 2 hours of walking? The Moulin de Binaou (Binaou Mill) circuit starting from the town of Linxe should suit you completely!
More exotic walks in the Spanish Basque Country
Why not also take the time to visit the Spanish Basque Country? Holidays are also the time to discover new landscapes in full peace and quiet. We encourage you to visit the Iraty Forest on your way to Spain. This forest is the largest beech forest in Europe and is located on the border between France and Spain. Convenient, isn’t it? If you are looking to get a little further away from your holiday accommodation in Landes, continue your journey by car and head to the Urdaibai Biosphere for a day. You’ll see sublime green cliffs beside the ocean, beaches as far as the eye can see and beautiful, sturdy Pottoks (Basque ponies) roaming freely. Don’t forget your camera!
